Maybe the truest definition of a British Mountain!
It’s one of the few lists that covers the whole of the British Isles.
Definition of a P600?
A prominence of 600 meters or 1,969 feet, by default, means that it is also the minimum total elevation of the summit to be declared a P600.
They are often referred to as the Majors, recognising that most of them are the major tops of their respective range.

How many P600 summits are there?
In total there are 120 spread across the British Isles.
We have 81 in Scotland, 25 in the Republic of Ireland, 8 in Wales, 4 in England 1 in Northern Ireland and 1 on the Isle of Man.
How many P600 have I ticked off
So far I have only ticked off ten from this list, but they have included some of my favourite mountain hikes, including Cadair Idris, Merrick, Scafell Pike, Glyder Fawr and Carnedd Llewellyn.
I only have one left in Wales, Aran Fawddwy, and three left in the north of England.
I do hope to tick a couple of the Scottish ones off on my trip in May.

Are you on a mission to tick off the P600s?
Are you on a mission to bag the summits from the P600 list?
I would love to hear your favourites and overall progress through the list.
